As children of the 60s we went all day with no water unless we came across a fountain with drinking water. Along came bottled water and the new ‘science’. I can go for hours even in very hot weather with no ill effects while the avid water drinkers per all day and have lots of headaches.
Me too. Do you remember when suddenly all the supermodels were walking around carrying a bottle of water. The water companies must have been paying them 😏
I drink mineral spring water and I just eat a lot of fruit and vegetables which are mostly water. A watermelon is more refreshing than a glass of water.
Celtic salt with purified water has been my go to lately & has worked far better at carrying adequate hydration to my cells. A simple protocol, yet rarely discussed.
The myth arrived first and then all of a sudden we had bottled water being sold to us. I knew something was up. Nobody in their right mind should fall for drinking a gallon of water a day! Just remember that Evian is NAIVE spelled backwards!....and they were one of the first companies on the water scene.
It’s crazy that this is what children intuitively do. They never want water… they want juice, milk, broths, and teas. My son loves coconut water, bone broth, like anything but plain water. My daughter is like 50% made of raw milk lol.
Too much water can kill, sodium crash. A co worker I once had lost his daughter and the grandchild she was carrying because she drank too much water. Her doctor told her to drink a gallon a day. She had no preexisting health problems, but was found dead in her kitchen with her water bottle laying beside her.
My mother in law who took the words of her physician as gospel went on a low salt diet and drank water constantly. My wife went to see her and found her unconscious and half naked under her bed. The ER doctor said she had only a trace of sodium in her body. She had been a Norman Rockwell grandmother, cooking huge meals, sewing clothes, keeping grandchildren entertained . Now, she is a husk.
Interesting article and possible substitutes for tap water. However, I have never read such a corny introduction. I have never heard anybody recommend more than 2.5+ liters of water in normal conditions for somebody who has a normal lifestyle(so without heavy exercise). You frame it like it is normal to drink 4 liters of water a day(?in normal circumstances) I have never heard anybody talk about drinking that much water. I do agree that just drinking water is not good enough, especially during and after intense exercise but still, but you grossly overstate the negative effect of water. If you drink 1.5/2.5 liters of water per day that is completly fine and you havent been lied to about hydration or whatever your title suggest
This is a refreshing take (pun intended). For years I harbored a diffuse guilt that I wasn’t drinking enough water. Instead I’d just feed and water the beast and call it good.
Perhaps that was for the best. I just try to make sure water is always on hand and never over think it. Lately I’ve been really gravitating into whole foods, going towards what makes me feel good. Turns out the body is smarter than we are, even just eating an apple, black coffee first thing while cutting junk has been game changing
Thanks for sharing, maybe I haven’t been so bad after all
It honestly blows my mind how pervasive this fitness myth is, and how many millions of people blindly fall for it.
You're a clown bro
Not enough of you realize, good quality, whole food is incredibly hydrating. Especially fruits, yogurts, kefirs, broths, and root vegetables.
What is so wrong with a normal(!) amount of water tho? That is not 3.6L+ per day in normal circumstances. A normal amount is between 1.5L and 2.5L.

They did things right in the 60s.
Me too. Do you remember when suddenly all the supermodels were walking around carrying a bottle of water. The water companies must have been paying them 😏
Early influencers.
What a load of crap
I have a well that supplies my water. The best water comes right out of the ground, not out of a municipal supply system.
Well said.
Lucky you 👌

Careful. Celtic are currently fighting a big legal case for containing extremely high lead levels in their salt.

🎯
Too much water floods the body with high deuterium too. Only drink when thirsty.
Exactly. Well said. That’s a first class comment.
I found this information laughable..readers might want to search Dr Tom Tommy boy’s professional credentials and standing …
Have you tried distilled water? I even use it to boil noodles. I use it Even in coffee!
I can almost guarantee you used tap water.

No child wants to drink plain water.
Huge lesson in there.
Calcium phosphate ratio actually affects electrolytes and hydration a lot. Drink milk more than water!

Sincerely, ¡¿RUCRES?!
Less is best for sure. Assuming good quality sources.
44 years old, extreme level of health/fitness and just drink water. Never felt better.
