8 Gut Health Myths That Are Castrating You
If you follow any of these, you’re not healing. Instead, you’re destroying your testosterone levels. I know this from my own experience with gut issues over the years.
1. “Probiotics fix everything.”
Most probiotics grow in large vats. They use GMO corn and chemical by-products.
The strains are lab-isolated. They are not ancestral, not native to your gut, and not contextually intelligent.
Worse?
They’re shipped dormant. They're stored unrefrigerated. And then, they're activated inside a gut that’s already inflamed. That’s a recipe for immune chaos.
Wrong strain(s) = histamine overproduction, bloating, brain fog, and paradoxical fatigue.
And even “right strain” = dependence without root-cause resolution. You don’t need more bugs.
You need a terrain those bugs want to live in. That won't be fixed with synthetic chemicals marketed as "healthy."
2. “Digestive enzymes are harmless.”
Most enzymes may seem “natural".
But 99% are derived from Aspergillus mold and fermented on harmful GMO grains.
Using it for a long time overrides your pancreas. It stops your body from making its own enzymes and leads to dependency on them.
This is biochemical learned helplessness.
Once your body gets used to outside help, it stops adjusting production based on internal signals.
Your gut health terrain then weakens, not strengthens.
You didn’t heal your digestion. You outsourced it.
That said, the nuance here is that the right enzymes can play a critical role in gut health restoration.
But the secret is animal derived enzymes (from pigs or cows), not plant-based. More on that later.
3. “Just Eat More Flax, Chia, and Clean Fiber Sources.”
You've been lied to. Fiber is not inherently healthy. Its utility is nuanced.
Within the context of a f*cked gut, fiber can actually make things A LOT worse (and fast).
The usual solutions, like nuts and seeds, are estrogenic. They also contain high amounts of phytic acid and lectins, which (ironically) can harm your gut.
For example, flax has lignans (phytoestrogens) that act like estrogen in the body. This can be especially troubling for men with high testosterone levels.
Chia has a lot of insoluble fiber. When your gut is messed up, this type of fiber doesn't ferment well and can irritate a damaged gut lining.

How many times do we all hear: "More magnesium!"
Andrew Huberman: "Take magnesium threonate; it'll change your life."
Dr. Peter Attia: "Take magnesium glycinate; it'll change your life."
And I know it's all well-meaning and glycinate sounds gentle. But it’s a synthetic chelator derived from glycine and industrial magnesium salts.
In other words... It’s built in a lab, not in nature. Why is that a problem?
If it isn't third-party tested (and most aren't), you might be exposing yourself to harmful residues without knowing.
And then... you have to ask yourself... since when did magnesium glycinate exist anywhere in nature?
It doesn't.
It does not exist in isolated form; it always comes with other nutrients.
Magnesium is a mineral that works best when paired with other minerals. This helps your body absorb it better.
When you put all these factors together, plus you throw in the weakness of your gut, it’s clear why magnesium glycinate doesn’t work (or any synthetic supplement for that matter).
Taking any mineral or vitamin in isolation is dangerous.
It will inflame the gut, disrupt mineral balance, and tax detox pathways. Especially when taken at night without the right cofactors (like other foods or synergistic nutrients).
For example:
