They Lied About Everything (And It's Tanking Your Testosterone)
How decades of health propaganda weakened men and the blueprint to take your power back.
I don’t write this piece as some out-of-touch theorist. I write it as a man who has actually been in the trenches and lived it.
At 20, I was staring down testicular cancer. By then I’d already followed most of the “health rules” we were all raised on:
Avoid the sun.
Cut back on fat and cholesterol.
Drink gallons of water.
Trust the experts.
I did all of it. And it left me fcking sick, panicked, and weak (and almost dead).
And I see the same thing in men like you every single day. You’re disciplined, successful, doing “all the right things” … yet you’re tired, softer, and more dependent than ever.
But guess what?.. you’re not broken. You’ve just been fcking lied to (on a scale most of you would struggle to comprehend).
The Architecture of Deception
What I’ve come to realize is that none of these narratives seem to stand alone. They’re pieces of the same machine. A system that (increasingly) appears designed to keep you confused, compliant, and dependent.
Sunlight is demonized so you slather chemicals on your skin and hide indoors.
Cholesterol is blamed so you avoid the very raw material of testosterone.
Meat is vilified so you trade steak for pea protein and seed oil snacks.
Masculinity is branded “toxic” so you apologize for being strong.
It appears to me that every lie has a deliberate purpose: weaken you physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Why?
I have my suspicions, but of course, I don’t know who is doing this or why they’re doing it (maybe it’s a sinister group of people or maybe it’s just outright political incompetence on a global scale).
But as someone who’s obsessed with spotting patterns, it has become so blatantly clear to me, that masculinity, as we once know it, is on the verge of facing modern-day extinction.
The Cost of Believing
Think back.
How many times have you skipped breakfast because a podcast guru told you fasting was “discipline”?
You dragged through meetings, jacked up on coffee, wondering why your temper was short and your mind foggy by 2 PM.
How many years did you avoid steak or butter because “cholesterol kills”?
You dutifully ordered the chicken breast, the salad with dressing on the side. And quietly watched your strength, libido, and mood decline.
How many vacations did you spend smothered in SPF 50, hiding from the sun because “skin cancer”?
Then you came home depressed, pasty, and vitamin D-deficient. Call me conspiratorial, but I’m beginning to think that none of this was accidental.
The payoff?
A weaker body.
A slower mind.
A deeper dependence on prescriptions and powders.
These lies don’t appear to be harmless mistakes. They turned out (funnily enough) to be ridiculously profitable narratives. Entire industries, from Pharma to processed food to personal care, were built on keeping you sick, scared, and compliant.
I don’t need to remind you but once you follow the money, it all starts to make a lot more sense (human ignorance is the most lucrative industry in the world!).
Breaking Down the Biggest Lies
“But Simmo, this sounds awfully conspiratorial.. where’s your proof?!”
I know.. bear with me… I was getting to that part now so let’s go deeper.
To be mindful of time, these are just a few examples but there’re thousands like this (the list of proven deceptions is quite literally is never-ending).
1. Sunlight is Dangerous
We’re told to fear the sun. To avoid it. To live indoors.
But sunlight isn’t the enemy. It’s the primary driver of testosterone, melatonin, vitamin D, and circadian rhythm. Miss it and your entire hormonal cascade goes sideways.
Your body isn’t designed for fluorescent light and tinted car windows. It’s designed for dawn light hitting your skin and eyes, setting the clock in your brain.
The sun doesn’t make you sick. Your indoor lifestyle does.
Remember:
UV studies never use natural sunlight, they use artificial light with isolated spectrums that have very little translation to real-world outcomes.
If the sun was so toxic, then why are humans the only species on the planet told to fear it, yet, every other species thrives in it?
If the sun was so toxic, then why are there countless studies showing red and infrared light spectrums (580 nm to 890 nm) have immense skin healing properties?
And if you’re like old me and you just blindly follow advice… you’ll be well aware of the one, “You need to supplement vitamin D in winter because there’s no sun.”
But.. have you ever considered the fact that if you can’t create vitamin D in the winter (as there’s obviously no UV-B light), then maybe that’s for a reason?

2. Cholesterol is Bad
This one is criminal.
Pharma companies built empires on the lie that cholesterol causes heart disease. Billions made off statins. But here’s what they didn’t tell you:
Cholesterol is the backbone of every steroid hormone in your body - testosterone, cortisol, progesterone, etc. Lower it indiscriminately and you tank your entire hormonal foundation (and become docile and weak.. funny that!).
In fact, it has been scientifically proven that higher cholesterol and LDL actually REDUCES all-causes mortality. Comparing 19 cohort studies including 30 cohorts with a total of 68 094 elderly people, where all-cause mortality was recorded in 28 cohorts and CV mortality in 9 cohorts, they found an inverse association between all-cause mortality and LDL-C was seen in 16 cohorts. Imagine that!
Heart disease isn’t caused by cholesterol. It’s driven by inflammation, environmental toxins, heavy metals, microplastics, processed foods, and hydrogenated seed oils. Yet for decades, men were told to fear eggs and steak while choking down margarine and “heart-healthy” cereal.
You can see the results all around you:
Declining testosterone, sagging waistlines, and endless prescriptions. If narratives as pervasive as this one were actually true, then why is the health of everyone (not just men), rapidly declining?
Think about it.
3. Meat is Dangerous
“Meat causes cancer.”
“Meat shortens your life.”
I fell for it too. I watched “What The Health,” and “Game Changers.” I got sucked in by it all. But guess what? It was all propaganda. Pure and simple.
A major systematic review and meta-analysis using the burden of proof methodology found weak evidence of association between unprocessed red meat consumption and several health outcomes. The researchers concluded that evidence for increased risk of colorectal cancer, breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, and ischemic heart disease was weak, while they found no evidence of association between unprocessed red meat and stroke outcomes.
The Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology (PURE) study, involving 134,297 individuals from 21 countries, found that higher unprocessed red meat intake was not significantly associated with total mortality or major cardiovascular disease. This large multinational study showed no significant associations between unprocessed red meat and poultry intake and mortality or major cardiovascular disease events.
Red meat built civilizations. It’s the densest, most bioavailable source of nutrients you can find: heme iron, creatine, zinc, niacin, and B12. Things you cannot replace with pea protein or lab-grown slop.
What happens when men ditch steak? They get weaker, slower, and sicker. Exactly what the system wants (just look around you when you next go to the grocery store, and you tell me whether you think avoiding meat is improving people’s health).
4. Masculinity is “Toxic”
This isn’t about equality. It’s about disarming men.
The meta-analysis revealed that masculinity serves as a statistically significant protective factor against depression. This is just one example of THOUSANDS. And, of course, the same goes both ways. Feminine energy is extremely healing for the masculine (funny how polarity works like that, right?!).
So why demonize it?
Because real masculinity.. that is protective, self-controlled, oriented toward service and strength, is the one force that threatens a system built on weakness. So it gets smeared as “toxic.”
And yet, millions of men fall for it. They shrink themselves. They mute their voice. They stop leading at home, at work, and in their community.
The culture wins. Men lose.
5. Germ Theory is The Whole Story
You’ve been told germs exist. Conventional medicine as we know it is quite literally built on this predication. But have you actually ever researched the origins of how Germ Theory was born and why it has become so pervasive in our everyday lives?
Probably not. And for good reason.
Because if you began to question, that maybe it was a lie, then it’s likely you’d start to question other common held theories were lies too. And that type of mindset does not serve those who depend on your ignorance to make huge profits. Believe it or not, there’re massive flaws in the Germ Theory argument and my favorite is that it ignores your biological terrain… the health of your internal environment.
Moreover, PNAS (2024) - "The Germ Theory Revisited: A Noncentric View on Infection Outcome" demonstrates that germ theory is "inherently microbe-centric and does not account for variability in disease severity among individuals and asymptomatic carriership - two phenomena indicating an important role for host variability in infection outcome." The study concludes that "the available data support a noncentric view that recognizes key roles for both the causative microbe and the host in dictating infection outcome.
It doesn’t take a rocket-science to notice how disease thrives in a weakened body (remember how c_vid impacted some people way worse than others?). A robust internal biological terrain doesn’t need to fear every microbe. But the Medical Cartel profits from the external story: “you caught something,” not “you failed to fortify.”
This keeps you dependent on pills instead of habits. On shots instead of healthy nutrition. On them instead of yourself. See the theme that’s developing here? You starting to get it?
6. Vegetable Oils Are Healthy
This should be no secret to most of you by now. Canola, soybean, and sunflower oil.. all marketed as “heart-healthy.” But in reality, they’re all repurposed industrial waste products.
These oils are oxidized, unstable, and inflammatory by design. They wreck your mitochondria, your arteries, and your testosterone. They’re in almost every packaged food. And they’ve been the silent driver of metabolic collapse for decades.
Do not blindly accept what you put in your grocery basket. Always be intentional. Sure, it’s less convenient but it’ll quite literally add years to your life.
Why Men (Like My Former Self) Believe the Lies
Propaganda works because it plays on your deepest fears.
Fear of heart disease. Fear of cancer. Fear of being rejected. Fear of stepping outside the lines. Fear makes you outsource your judgment. You stop questioning. You obey.
Research consistently demonstrates that fear-based messaging can be effective in changing behavior. A comprehensive meta-analysis of 127 studies involving 27,372 participants found that fear appeals produce positive effects on attitudes, intentions, and behaviors. The effectiveness of fear appeals is particularly strong when messages include efficacy statements and depict high susceptibility and severity.
Many studies also confirm that fear significantly impairs cognitive function and decision-making capacity. Research demonstrates that intense fear creates “concretized emotions” that block deliberation by preventing people from thinking through alternatives and responding to evidence. Fear-induced anxiety produces predictable cognitive biases and affects specific decision variables.
Moreover, many studies confirm that fear increases compliance with authority. Research during COVID-19 showed that anxiety was positively correlated with compliance with government regulations. Media exposure increased both anxiety and compliance, while also creating uncertainty that could reduce compliance. Fear was identified as the only significant predictor of positive behavior change during the pandemic.
And the system smiles, because every obedient choice makes you weaker and them richer (cynical of me maybe but also potentially very true).
The Power of Discernment (Your Ultimate Weapon in a Society Obsessed With Blind Faith).
The antidote isn’t another hack, or pill, or Gary Brecka hydrogen tablet. It’s cultivating healthy levels of discernment.
I’m sure I don’t need to remind you, but just in case:
Don’t take headlines at face value (the truth is more often than not, the opposite of what they’re saying)
Question every narrative, even the ones you want to believe
Follow results, not rhetoric (a good way to protect yourself against manipulation)
I’ve seen this firsthand coaching dozens of 7- and 8-figure business owners and leaders. The men who break free don’t just rebuild testosterone. They rebuild their entire life.
They stop outsourcing decisions. They start leading again in all domains of their life be it their health, their business or their relationship.
You must become fiercely intentional with every decision that you make. This mental framing is the ultimate rocket-fuel for personal growth. It is quite literally the difference between average men and great men.
And when I say “become fiercely intentional,” I don’t mean just ask Google or ChatGPT more questions (BIG mistake)… I mean ask yourself, who benefits from this narrative? Are there huge profits involved? Why this particular narrative and not others? Are there others and if so, why are they disqualified or marginalized? etc, etc (I’ll do a longer post on this soon so stay tuned for that).
Don’t accept first answers. Keep going. Question the answer’s answer, and then question the answer’s answer to the answer, and so on, and so forth. Really fcking test yourself and your ability to think critically.
The Path Forward
Reversing and unlearning decades of propaganda doesn’t require complexity. It requires an open mind but also bucket loads of consistency and discipline.
Here’s where to start:
Reclaim Sunlight: 15 minutes outside every morning, upon waking.
Eat Real Food: well-sourced meats, clean seafood sources, eggs, unhomogenized dairy, cooked roots, seasonal fruit. Ditch seed oils and synthetic pills and powders.
Detox Inputs: From synthetic multis to processed garbage, every choice counts. To detox well, focus on sweating, saunas and real food instead.
Build Strength: For resilience, not vanity. Train to move with good posture, not just to flex.
Question Everything: Even me. If it doesn’t make sense, test it in your own life. This is how you become outrageously dangerous.
Improve the relationship with yourself. What stories are you telling yourself every day? Are they empowering you or disempowering you?
One client of mine swapped his gallon jug of water for raw milk and oranges. In three weeks, his digestion settled, his energy stabilized, and his sleep deepened.
Another ditched synthetic zinc and replaced it with desiccated oysters. Within a month his testosterone panel shifted and his mood lifted.
Small moves but with huge returns. It’s so much easier and more simple than you think. Seriously.
Final Takeaway:
“They lied” isn’t conspiracy. It’s commerce. Entire industries profit from your weakness.
Hopefully I’ve made a pretty strong case here they don’t want you healthy, independent, or confident.
But just remember this: you’re one decision away from reclaiming it all.
You can either keep outsourcing your biology to the machine… Or you can step up, question, and rebuild like the man you were meant to be.
The choice isn’t abstract. It’s daily. It’s in your pantry. It’s in your habits. It’s in your willingness to lead instead of follow.
Your son, your team, your family … they don’t need you compliant. They need you strong.

Good post and I would add that how you actually feel (vs how you feel jacked on caffeine or with a wine buzz) is the best benchmark for the efficacy of your lifestyle. If you feel strong and have mental energy and well being, you're doing it right. It's really simpler than most people think--
